What are sub-domains?

Subdomains are a way to create different web addresses for specific parts of a website. They are often used for organizational or navigation purposes, as well as for creating unique landing pages or microsites. Subdomains are created by adding a prefix to the main domain name, separated by a dot.

For example, blog.example.de is a subdomain of the main domain example.de. They can be useful for managing large websites with multiple domains or for targeted marketing campaigns. It is important to know that subdomains are not the same as subdirectories or subfolders, which are created by adding a suffix after a slash to the main domain name.
